Institute of Directors CEO passes away
Institute of Directors chief executive Dr William Whittaker died unexpectedly of a heart attack on 30 November.
Dr Whittaker had been with the Institute of Directors for six years and was appointed CEO in August 2013.
Institute of Directors President Stuart McLauchlan acknowledged Dr Whittaker’s work at the forefront of major initiatives at the IoD, including the creation of its commercial arm and the Chartered Membership Pathway, which has been described as the most transformational change in the IoD’s history.
McLauchlan said Dr Whittaker had been a highly effective CEO who had developed a strong team and culture at the Institute of Directors and would be sorely missed.
Dr Whittaker was 62 and is survived by his partner Deb and son Tom.
